MAJOR 2026 Release #2: Red Pineau des Charentes Cask Finished Rye 122.84 Proof

A rich, high-proof rye finished in a cask that previously held Red Pineau des Charentes, adding a deep fruit-and-brandy character to the whiskey’s natural rye spice. The result is lush but still assertive, with notes of black cherry, fig jam, red grape skin, baking spice, cola, polished oak, rye bread crust, cocoa, and dried herbs.

The finish brings a rounded, wine-dark sweetness on the mid palate without turning cloying or overtly “winey,” in the finish, a common flaw in less carefully handled PDC-finished whiskeys. It remains unmistakably rye: spicy, aromatic, energetic, and structured, but with a luxurious red-fruit layer that gives it greater breadth and decadence.
