Step into the world of rare and exquisite American bourbon with A. Altschuler and Co. 16 Year Bourbon, New American and New French Oak 101.57 pf. This single barrel release has been aged in two unique oak barrels, first in American oak and then in French oak, allowing for a deeply complex and sophisticated flavor profile, that represents the art of barrel aging.
This single barrel release was handpicked by the Mid Atlantic Whiskey Lovers Society, and carefully crafted to produce a truly extraordinary experience. 75 bottles were produced especially for the Society, 200 were produced for non-members, and any remainder was left in the cask to continue aging.
The 78.5% corn mash bill and the long aging process in two different types of oak barrels have produced a whiskey that is truly special. Our distillery procured the whiskey when it was 15 years old, but we believed that it needed something extra to make it truly exceptional. So we placed it in a giant French oak barrel and let it age until it was over 16 years old. The result is a remarkable whiskey that is smooth, with a deep and layered flavor profile, hints of sage, anise, deep woods, and some slight citrus notes.
This is a whiskey that you'll want to savor and keep to yourself, a rare and exclusive indulgence that represents the pinnacle of our craft.
